About Us
Ardagh Gaa Club is located in the parish of Ardagh between the towns of Ballina and Crossmolina in North Mayo. Here in Ardagh we are very proud of our parish and our achievements as a junior club. We aspire to provide an interest and an outlet for the young people of our parish both on and off the pitch and to support and enhance the lives of all our parishioners.
We have a long established Junior Team competing successfully in the championship and league competitions. This year 2017 will be the first year our club fields a second team in the league, this is due to our growing membership and the interest and support there exists for our club within our parish.
We are involved in a very successful amalgamation at under age level with our neighbours Moygownagh Gaa under the name of Ardmoy. More recently Ardmoy has successfully amalgamated with Lahardane Gaa at under 14 up to under 21 levels.
Our facilities are located in Cloonkee just off the main Crossmolina Ballina road. We have modern spacious clubrooms which have been just recently renovated. We also operate two pitches; our first pitch has been recently reseeded and is in excellent playing condition. We are in the planning stages of reclaiming and renewing our second pitch.
Our Community Council have recently developed a magnificent astro turf facility in our parish which we regularly use for training. We are also developing players gym in conjunction with our nearby community centre which we hope will be of great assistance to player’s development.
With plans being developed for improvements of our second pitch and the construction of a supporters stand, fund raising is very much to the forefront of our activities. Our annual lotto draw is our main source of funds which helps us to cover the day to day running costs. We continue to hold many various fundraisers through the year with tremendous help from our members and supporters. We are determined to raise the funds required to provide our players with a Club and facilities of the highest possible standard, our aim is continuous improvement both on and off the pitch
